The World Cup might have ended in a heartbreak for Sri Lankan skipper Kumar Sangakkara, but he'll have little time to gather his thoughts before heading to Hyderabad to take charge of his team for IPL 4.

The Deccan Chargers on Monday named him the captain and Cameron White as his deputy. They played for Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers, respectively.

"He's on the ball, Kumar (Sangakkara), and who better to pick," said Dale Steyn the spearhead of Chargers' attack.
